After practicing law in the State of Minnesota, Mr. O’Shaughnessy joined Lario Oil and Gas Company in 1975 where he served as Senior Vice President and General Counsel until 1987. He formed The Globe Resources Group, a private venture firm whose subsidiaries engaged in banking and geophysical and oil well services in Russia during the 1990’s. In 2002 he co-founded GEOPARK Holdings, a South American E&P company with operations in Chile, Colombia, Brazil and Argentina and later founded Bakken Logistics, an oil midstream services company in North Dakota.

In addition to his oil and gas activities, Mr. O’Shaughnessy’s venture firm also controls or has investments in startup ventures involved in wealth management (GEOWEALTH Holdings), desktop software, computer and network security, green cleaning technology and biotechnology, among others.

Over the past 25 years, Mr. O’Shaughnessy has served on the boards of a number of non-profit organizations, including the Board of Economic Advisors to the Governor of Kansas, I.A. O’Shaughnessy Family Foundation, Wichita Collegiate School, Institute for Humane Studies, East West Institute and the Bill of Rights Institute.

Mr. O’Shaughnessy is a member of the Intercontinental Chapter of Young Presidents Organization (YPO) and World Presidents Organization (WPO). His hobbies include playing golf, squash and tennis.
